FOTOCER research was presented at the 3rd Symposium on Insights into Gas Diffusion Electrodes in Berlin. Our poster showcased breakthrough results in CO₂ electroreduction using silver-coated gas diffusion electrodes in zero-gap MEA configuration, achieving ~85% Faradaic efficiency for CO production at 100 mA cm⁻² with 90 hours of stable operation. This work demonstrates scalable pathways for efficient CO₂-to-CO conversion. The symposium provided valuable opportunities to engage with the international electrochemistry community and explore collaborative opportunities in GDE technologies.

Our poster showcased the synthesis of porous copper-tungsten (Cu-W) composite via pulsed galvanic electrodeposition. This binder-free method creates dendritic, porous nanocomposites with enhanced surface area for superior electrocatalytic performance in water electrolysis and CO₂ reduction applications. The work demonstrates a novel pathway for fabricating fluorine-free gas diffusion electrodes with improved catalytic activity and stability. The conference provided valuable opportunities to engage with the international electrochemistry community and explore collaborative opportunities in advanced electrode materials.

The presentation introduced the FOTOCER project to the European materials science community, highlighting our innovative approach to developing fluorine-free gas diffusion electrodes using copper-tungsten compositions for zero-gap AEM water electrolysis and CO₂ electrolyzers. This early-stage dissemination facilitated valuable knowledge exchange with leading researchers in ectrochemical systems and sustainable energy materials. The conference provided an excellent platform to establish connections within the European research community and explore potential collaborations in advanced electrode materials and solar-assisted catalytic processes.
